One hour to the east of Valence, the Diois (Dee-wah) is an undiscovered treat. Not exactly the Vercors, not yet the Drôme provencal, the region of Die takes its spectacular scenery from the former, sun and cicadas from the latter.

Le chemin des vignes – The wine route  From Saint Roman village, at the ”Place de la Mairie”, take the road to the right which leads to and over the col Ferrand. Pass the peak (594m) which leads straight to the gravel vineyard paths and their traditional stone cabins .The wine route in Die, FranceThe road through the vinyardsEnter Châtillon-en-Diois, and visit and appreciate its medieval village. On the way back, take the main road until you reach the Maupas cellar, then take the path leading off to the right, which is another vineyard path that will take you back to Saint Roman.
